Register now for the 2024 Sydney Clinical Ethics Colloquium

Registrations are now open for the inaugural Sydney Clinical Ethics Colloquium, to be held at the Sydney Law School on 30 November and 1 December 2024.

CESA is pleased to support the Sydney Clinical Ethics Colloquium, an event for clinicians, health service managers, clinical ethics committee members and chairs, policymakers, lawyers, academics and others with an interest in the work of clinical ethics in the health care system.

We invite you to join us at the Colloquium and to help foster a community of practice for people committed to clinical ethics service development and delivery across Australasia. Event registration includes complimentary CESA membership.

Details of the final Colloquium program are still to come, but the following sessions and speakers have been confirmed for the two-day program:

  • Sessions include: philosophy & ethics in health care; clinical ethics reasoning and service delivery; health law, with a focus on privacy, confidentiality, consent & capacity ; organisational ethics, examining responses to the COVID19 pandemic; conflicts of interest; paediatric ethics; and issues around death & dying, including futility and voluntary assisted dying.

  • Speakers include: Lynn Gillam, Helen Irving, Ian Kerridge, Paul Komesaroff, Wendy Lipworth, Julian Savulescu, Jackie Leach Scully, Wade Stedman, Cameron Stewart, Ross Upshur and many more leaders in the field.
